Seoyoung Park is a Korean actor, theatre director, educator, artistic administrator, and producer who considers Chicago her second home. Born and raised in Seoul, she moved to the U.S. to pursue a master’s degree in Acting at DePaul University, where she graduated with an MFA. She also holds a B.A. and M.A. in Acting from Chung-Ang University in Seoul.
Her Chicago credits include Attempts on Her Life (Ensemble), which earned the 2024 Jeff Award for Best Ensemble, Tom & Eliza (Eliza) and The Long Christmas Dinner (Leonora) at TUTA, as well as The Heart Sellers (Jane) at Northlight Theatre which earned her a 2025 Equity Jeff Award nomination for Performer in a Principal Role. Regional credits include The Heart Sellers (Jane) at Seattle Repertory Theatre. She also directed TUTA Theatre’s Lab Performance Three Horse Men.
Prior to relocating to Chicago, she built a diverse career in the Korean entertainment industry, appearing in television series and films including Criminal Minds and Don’t Dare to Dream. Her international theatre credits include the devised work Linmiathes (Hypsipyle) at Hydra Theatre in Greece and Indecent (Halina) at Daehakro Arts Theatre in Seoul.
She is currently a member of TUTA Theatre Company, an Artistic Coalition member of Artemisia Theatre, a producer of Asian American Arts Chicago, and the Executive Director of Alien Theatre Company.
Fluent in both Korean and English, her journey is defined by dedication, a commitment to bridging cultures, and an unwavering passion for her craft.
